Maximize Your Life!

Your personalized roadmap to getting unstuck

Who am I?

What am I doing?

Why am I here?

Last month, I wrote about ditching the predefined roadmap for your life in order to blaze your own trail. I discussed following your “gut” and allowing your intuition to be your guide. If you missed it, check it out here

I received a lot of feedback and comments that were centered around the following themes :: conformity, feeling stuck, not feeling _____ (good, attractive, motivated, strong) enough, confusion, and not knowing how to figure out what’s next. So this month I am going to focus on exploring ——>what’s next and how to get unstuck.

By actually knowing your “minimums” - the “bare bones” that you’ll tolerate - you won’t stand for anything less in life. Most people have simply never contemplated their “minimums,” so I am going to walk you through the very same exercise that I take my clients though.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself if you are feeling stuck. Click here for a worksheet where you can fill out the answers to these questions below.

  • Without _____  I lose myself. (ex: scheduling things in iCal, calling home, working out etc..)
  • When I feel most connected to my center I am practicing _____: (ex: yoga, journaling, gratitude, coaching, volunteering etc…)
  • When I feel most connected to something larger than myself I feel _______: (ex: motivated, energized, happy, inspired, excited etc…)
  • I could live without ______, but not for long: (ex: lululemon clothing, health coaching, healthy meals, lots of water, running, connecting deeply, The Today Show etc..)

Knowing your minimums keeps you from burning out and feeling stressed. When is the last time you’ve enjoyed these things?

Use the answers you wrote down as your very own personalized roadmap.
Post it in a space where it can be easily viewed and accessed.  Pull it out when you’re feeling stuck and reconnect with all things :: YOU!

Celiac Disease: What to Know About Going Gluten-Free

May is Celiac Awareness month, and with more and more people going gluten-free, we wanted to shine the spotlight on this growing health issue.
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that is triggered by the consumption of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. Three million Americans have celiac disease, yet 95% of those who have it are undiagnosed. You can find out if you have celiac by requesting a blood test through your doctor. However, the celiac test is not a reliable way to find out if you have gluten intolerance.
The only known way to cure celiac disease is through dietary changes – by removing gluten-containing foods from the diet. While it may sound like a simple change, it’s actually more complex than it sounds.

What You Need to Know About Mad Cow

Holy Cow!

Last week, the first incidence of mad cow disease since 2006 was discovered in a dairy cow in Tulare County, California. The 10-year-old Holstein was tested for the disease after it developed lameness and could not stand.

Though the cow was never intended for the meat market and the food supply is not in danger, the development is certainly worrisome. But does that mean you need to give up red meat for good? Not necessarily. Here are the straight facts you need to know about mad cow disease

10 Make Up Tips to Look Good in Pictures …

1. Use Mattes

2. Apply in Natural Light

3. Use Yellow Tinted Powder

4. Don’t forget lipstick…

I loved this post that I found on Pinterest. These are just good tips on :: How to Apply Make Up :: in general. I am not one who likes to wear a lot of make up. I actually prefer to not wear any at all mostly because I am just not great at applying it.

I think my California lifestyle supports an all-natural look—-> and for that, I am grateful!  And, its my easy out!

So since I have become more lax, I sometimes forget the HOW TO’s of applying make up well. With that said, I am looking forward to trying these simple suggestions out!

…and I wanted to share them with you….

You see, learning how to look good in pictures is easy with a couple of helpful make up TIPS.

Enjoy!
